Model Archive – Berwick 1707

A Spanish brand, although there is 1707 alongside the brand name, but the history is totally made up. Duke of Berwick was a Spanish general ruling Almansa, the capital of shoemaking in Spain.

The brand claims it is based in Madrid, what is the point when only the headquarter is somewhere?

To be fair, there are some good things about Berwick:

  • Own factory, the name is Milan Classic S.A.
  • Leather are all from great tanneries, Du Puy, D’Annonay and C.F Stead, Premium Grade uses JR sole. Rubber sole is Dainite.
  • Classic models.

The website also has introduction of the lasts. The only bad part is too many.

Let me collect its models here.

Remark

I think Berwick target the customers used to choose from Loake, Herring or Cheaney. Last quantity is big however the fineness is not very impressive.
