My Shoe Collection, A Derby from a.testoni Studium Line

a.testoni is not a player in niche market anymore and opens a lot of mono-brand boutiques around the world. I believe its current customer base does not care about different collections/lines from it, but we, shoe enthusiasts do. Ironically, even we do, most have no idea how many collections a.testoni offers and what they are. Let me be an educator, a.testoni has four collections, entry Basic, mainline Studium, premium Black Label and top Amedeo. Construction wise, Basic is cemented, Studium Blake Stitched, Black Label Bolognese and Amedeo Goodyear or Norwegese. This pair comes from Studium collection. Let us have a look.

Last

So obvious elongated pointy toe. I will never buy a pair of shoes in this shape.

Pattern

The biggest appetite spoiler is the wide cap toe formed by two distant stitch lines. For any shoes with this design, I will describe them UGLY.

The ears are quite square which says nothing about beauty again.

Outsole

Italian shoemakers love Blake construction and never accept open channel outsole.

The triangle pattern at the connection of waist and heel is also very Italian.

Leather

Leather quality is quite inferior and the coating is too thick for a pair of formal shoes.

Details

Lining leather is extremely low quality, and I don’t think I would like to buy Italian shoes anymore.

Conclusion

I have not owned a pair of Amedeo collection from a.testoni, with the shoes I own, I have to say a.testoni does not deserve a place in my shoe closet.
