My Shoe Collection, Malvern from Edward Green

Edward Green is an English brand which focuses making high quality dress shoes. This description can be copied by almost every shoe brand, but the key point high quality is never arbitrary, but objective.

You just cannot imagine how many very seasoned shoe enthusiasts rest on Edward Green after a long time playing in this field, buying hundreds of shoes in every colour, every model and every leather you can think of. Why? Simple, it is classic, let us use another word, boring.

I am a huge fan of its last, more specifically 202, this “stupidly” round toe makes me the best dress shoe shape.

Let us check my pair of Malvern.

Last

Nowadays, you cannot easily find another shoe brand offering such round toes. The classic round toe was judged for people without testosterone, and I am certainly one of those unable men.

Pattern

Malvern is a short wingtip full brogue oxford. Initially I cannot tell the difference between Malvern and Inverness.

After close check, I know the wingtip on Inverness is imitation, not really punched holes.

Leather

John Lobb used to be regarded as the best leather quality choice among all shoe brands, however, recent years, its leather quality started to degrade, and Edward Green stay untouched so to grab the position. Anyone buying a pair of Edward Green need not to worry you will toss the shoes because of bad leather creases.

Construction

I don’t feel Goodyear construction executed by Edward Green is apparently more exquisite than other brands of the same price point, however many cobblers claim so.

Conclusion

As I stated in the intro, Edward Green is the last resort to many, and Malvern probably is not, because it has too many decorations.
