My Shoe Collection, Wells from John Lobb

Wells is a not so popular model from John Lobb Paris. And its last is not popular as well.

Let us check this pair of shoes.

Last

The last information is behind the size, 0215. I don’t think myself an expert on John Lobb lasts and 0215 does not remind me anything.

From the top view, I feel the toes are too sharp. And the elongation is quite obvious. Don’t forget this pair is already EE width, which means it is wider than the default setting. I just don’t know what kind of feet fits into this last.

Pattern

I caught two design points on this pair.

First is the strap on the tongue, it is not called penny loafer as there is not slot for penny, and the suede leather add more fun to the shoes.

The other is the colour, it is not black, not really blue or green, but a colour called midnight which is a colour may be always associated with banquet. As under the artificial light, real black will reflect the light and become sheen, but midnight blue becomes black which is what is really called for under the circumstance.

Leather

The creases are quite fine; however, the leather feels very dry even I conditioned it several times already.

The suede leather of strap must be Janus from tannery C.F.Stead, the best one.

Fit

This pair is unlined for comfort, however I don’t feel too much.

Conclusion

A pair of dinner shoes disguise into strap loafers.
