My Shoe Collection – Towcester from John Lobb

This is my first pair of John Lobb Paris and maybe the one I wore most. I did not know too much about dress shoes, only was drawn by its fame. But comfort, aesthetics and fulfillment made me so happy.

Last

John Lobb has dozens of lasts in production, but in my opinion, last 7000 and 8000 are the default choices for lace ups and monks. 7000 is a classic round toe and may seem blunt a bit.

Pattern

Towcester is unique at the quarter area, the shape is very beautiful and this pair used dove grey colour to emphasize this design.

Another design point is the compass medallion which is only seen on this model.

Leather

Creases are extremely fine which I long time regarded as the biggest selling point of John Lobb Paris. That is what sets apart a super high quality dress shoes from others.

Construction

As one of the most expensive machine made dress shoe brand, John Lobb Paris actually submits great answers. The stitches are so close to the upper and density is amazing. The closer you watch it, the more you appreciate.

The stitches run even better at the waist and the edge rounding makes it more exquisite.

Conclusion

When so many brands advocate its handwelting construction or handmade percentage, John Lobb Paris firmly uses its machines to make best shoes.
