I’m afraid that many people are not familiar with this name, but his experience in shoemaking, among domestic shoemakers, is very orthodox and academic. As a Stefano Bemer studio trainee, after returning to China, JIANG Daoyuan became a bespoke shoemaker and later, created his own shoe brand Badia.

As curious as everyone is about this low-key shoemaker and the philosophy of his ready-to-wear brand, Badia, I had the pleasure of interviewing him.

Ichigo Ichie is the brand of Vietnamese shoemaker LEE Trung.

My perception of Vietnamese shoemakers (including brands) is that the aesthetic literacy is quite good, but the shoes are not fine. And this kind of lack of fineness is likely to be not only what we can see on shoes, but also the internal structure and shoe-making logic.

When we focus on the good side, the aesthetic creativity of Vietnamese shoemakers, because of their deep connection with France, is extremely powerful.

William Efe-Laborde is an independent French bespoke shoemaker living in London.

Even France has a very strong culture and community for bespoke crafts, William found this passion in England. We can regard him as self-taught because he doesn’t have any official job or apprentice in those prestigious houses, and this speaks a lot about his talent and determination.

Rank as the 5th in 2023 World Championships of Shoemaking, he is getting more and more attention around the world.

An Interview with Japanese Bespoke Shoemaker Kentaro Soyama

Unboxing MTO Oxford from Japanese Shoemaker Siroeno Yosui

Siroeno Yosui is a bespoke shoemaker from Japan but it is not a real shoemaker, I mean it is not a person, but a team. The team is made up of two people. There are two significant things about Siroeno Yosui, one is their YouTube channel, which captures the complete handcrafted process of how a pair of shoes is made from start to finish. The other is that they were the runner-up in the 2022 World Shoemaking Championship.

These shoes were ordered in June 2022, and soon the test foot shoes arrived. After trying and gave some feedback it was not until yesterday that the shoes were received. I think the product gives a very premium experience!

Mogada is a Munich based Germany bespoke shoemaker, I came across its astonishing shoes on Instagram. I didn’t know much about it such as the people behind, the history or its reputation domestically. I shamelessly asked to have an interview to know more, and was warmly welcomed by the founder, Louis Lampertsdörfer. I surprisingly found his learning experience in shoemaking is prestigious.
