My Shoe Collection – Maftei Bespoke Seamless Wholecut Oxford

These shoes weren’t really my specification because I asked Mr. Alexandru Maftei to make the shoes he wanted to make for me. The result is the last and craftsmanship are so satisfying, while the colour is a little bit out of control.

Let us check it out.

My Shoe Collection – Maftei Schubert

This is my black Cap Toe Oxford with the highest craftsmanship and the best leather level, but it is not my favorite or most worn one.

I can’t remember exactly how many pairs of black cap toe Oxford I have and how many pairs I have had, but whenever I look at a brand, I will unconsciously look for its black cap toe Oxford to understand the aesthetics of the brand.

I am not so into this pair because of the last and the fit, which gives me a deeper understanding of the logic of the lasts of Chinese and European shoes.

Let ut check it out.

My Shoe Collection – Black Carlos Santos New 1798

Because I have a lot of business trips, and I am a very lean person, I often wear the same pair of shoes for a week or even two.I know it’s unhealthy for shoes, and it’s easy to get old quickly, but carrying a lot of stuff going everywhere is never an option to me.

This pair, Carlos Santos New is my perfect workhorse.

Why is it perfect?

Check it out with me.

My Shoe Collection – Johnston Murphy Aristocraft

This is a pair of vintage shoes. Why do I mention this? Because Johnston Murphy is still alive today. Most of them are glued shoes, and there are very few welted shoes. Most are made in India or other Southeast Asian countries, and they are not made in the United States.

My Shoe Collection, Meermin 102635 in Shell Cordovan

When it comes to Meermin, what is your first impression? Price killer? Although there is nothing wrong, I think it is a bit underestimating the brand. Through paying attention to it year by year, I think its core competitiveness now lies in leather. Meermin is absolutely above average in leather optional richness, and at its price, it has no rivals.

My Shoe Collection – Monterey from Hanover Imperial Collection

I introduced a pair of Hanover Longwing here. It is said that the MasterFlex line is a less advanced line. But from the shoes, I can see that there is really nothing to be picky about except the bookbinder leather. The comfort is great, and the double leather sole is durable.

This time, I introduce a pair of Imperial collection and see if it’s better.

My Shoe Collection – Dunhill Litsoon

In my eyes, the two remaining luxury brands (let’s just call them that) in Britain are Dunhill and Burberry.

Dunhill’s lighters and pipes are still quite sought after, but only in a small circle. In the field of clothing, Dunhill is closer to the overall luxury industry than Burberry, that is, a large number of Italian production.

My Shoe Collection – 6903 Francis from Carlos Santos

Carlos Santos is the leading quality shoe brand from Portugal. There is not only one shoemaker in Portugal however Carlos Santos is the only one promoting its own brand.

The superb volume of the factory gives great advantage on its quality control and leather sourcing, and refinement of lasts, so the shoes are really good.

Recently, Carlos Santos finally put more resource on promoting the brand rather than developing more and more products which is a good thing.

My Shoe Collection – 598 Demi Chasse from J.M.Weston

I think J.M.Weston is a hidden treasure. Why is that? Speaking about fame, it is only recognized in France and Japan, but in this two countries, it is maybe more sought after than John Lobb or any other English brands.

There is a funny fact about J.M.Weston that its most loved and iconic models are all blunt round toe, it is sarcastic for a French brand where sharp and long toe is the normal.
