My Shoe Collection – Monterey from Hanover Imperial Collection
I introduced a pair of Hanover Longwing here. It is said that the MasterFlex line is a less advanced line. But from the shoes, I can see that there is really nothing to be picky about except the bookbinder leather. The comfort is great, and the double leather sole is durable.
This time, I introduce a pair of Imperial collection and see if it’s better.
(more…)My Shoe Collection – Hanover
If you are not a vintage dress shoe collector, you probably never heard it. Hanover was once among the four kings of the United States dress shoes, the quality is absolutely not lost to their British counterparts, such as Edward Green and Church’s. Why not mention John Lobb and Gaziano & Girling? Because at the peak of the quality of American leather shoes industry, these two brands did not exist (I mean John Lobb Paris).

But there is one difference to note, the factory in the UK was Edward Green.

This pair of vintage Crockett & Jones was in bad condition that even I tried my best to renovate its leather, it still cannot service me well. So I plan to ditch it and have a close look before.
(more…)My Shoe Collection – Unknown Model from Crockett & Jones
Crockett & Jones is the midrange English shoe brand I admire so much as its aesthetics is mainly conservative and English and its last iteration catches the rhythm of time.
This pair was made for a company called Swan Shoe Company and today I cannot find information on the internet. And this model never appears again. What a pity.
