My Shoe Collection – Lorenzo from Berluti

Berluti is the most famous dress shoe company in the world because its parent company has put a lot of resource to promote it, and the company is called LVMH which is best at marketing even in history.

Before the acquisition of LVMH, Berluti was the leading French shoemaker already. Today, LVMH put tailoring heritage of Arnys into Berluti and make it a fashion label, and the shoes are more and more Avant Garde and deviate from classic.

Luckily, some iconic models are well kept and this one is a also a great model with innovation on leather selection.

Pattern

A penny loafer with quite narrow ridge of the apron, and the heel is a cup band. The hollow area on the strap is almost a fine line. In general, it tells a very sleek and tender feeling.

Lorenzo is a unlined loafer and it is very light.

Last

I am not very familiar with Berluti lasts, only the most famous Demesure is recognized. Lorenzo Loafer sits on Rimini last, it is a square toe loafer last.

Construction

Blake stitched. Many Italian shoes (yes, you read it right, Berluti is not made in France, but Italy) do the process till the middle of waist and stamp a star at the end.

Leather

This is my first and only pair of shoes made of kangaroo leather. It is very supple and the creases are almost invisible, and the sheen of the leather is wonderful. I think we cannot find any disadvantage of this leather except it is super soft.

Details

Unlined upper of super soft leather makes the side of ankle unsupportive, but maybe it is not a problem.

Conclusion

For its classic models, Berluti is a very great choice except the price is not for everyone, but it is not its problem but the one who cannot afford it.
