Ichigo Ichie is the brand of Vietnamese shoemaker LEE Trung.

My perception of Vietnamese shoemakers (including brands) is that the aesthetic literacy is quite good, but the shoes are not fine. And this kind of lack of fineness is likely to be not only what we can see on shoes, but also the internal structure and shoe-making logic.

When we focus on the good side, the aesthetic creativity of Vietnamese shoemakers, because of their deep connection with France, is extremely powerful.

Lee Trung, the Vietnamese bespoke shoemaker, aka Ichigoichie Shoemaker was introduced to me by Instagram KOL Thunder_March, except his shoes are finely made, the artful expression is also impressive.

There are several rising Vietnamese bespoke shoemakers, and I feel Lee Trung is very understated but truly enjoying the crafts itself.

It is a great honour to have this interview with him.

I know four shoemakers/brands from Vietnam, CNES, Fugashin, Mangii and Hephaestus.

Hephaestus is a small workshop founded in 2014 and offers mainly Bespoke and Made to Order.

The logo indicates the founder is a fan of online gaming.

An entry level brand from Vietnam. I have introduced two brands from Vietnam, CNES and Fugashin, both cost about 320 USD, and Mangii cost only 160 USD for Goodyear construction, and 130 USD for Blake construction.

A country quite few discuss when come to dress shoes, Vietnam. CNES was founded in 1996, currently makes private label for 31 fashion houses, and the biggest customer of HCP (Hermes Leather Department) in Southeast Asia.
