Model Archive – Loake

How many entry level shoe brands are there in England? Not too easy to answer, but the most famous two are quite clear: Barker and Loake.

Both tried to build the premium image in customer minds. Barker pushed Barker Black but with a Rock n Roll style and failed badly. Loake chose 1880 collection and succeeded very well! I think English brands may only have the only way to survive which is going premium. Sadly, Loake still produces a lot of cheap shoes.

Remark

As a great shoe company with such long history, even it never was regarded a premium brand, a lot of shoe made in the history are marvelous. But now, when I look at the archive, I feel sad and not interested in buying except some models from 1880 and 1880 Export collections.
