When speaking about Ready to Wear shoe brand from Austria, Saint Crispin‘s is the first one coming to mind. Saint Crispin’s has its production workshop in Romania. The real shoe factory in Austria is Ludwig Reiter.
Founded in 1885 to supply to military troops. Ludwig Reiter Jr went to Germany, England and US to learn advanced shoemaking method. From 1902 to 1908, he worked in several American shoe factories and learned the Goodyear construction. He went back to Austria in 1909 with Goodyear technique and equipment.
The flagship boutique opened its door in Vienna in 1919. 1934, it registered Fox brand to sell to civil market.
In 1980s, Fox is regarded neither premium nor fashionable, so the company retreated to its company name.
Price is around 700 Euro.
