It is said that Northampton once host tens of shoe factories/brands, however, most of them perished. Among those prosper today, two brands stand out as the middle range pillar, one is Crockett & Jones, and the other Alfred Sargent.
When Crockett & Jones harvests fantastic global reputation, Alfred Sargent is very silent if not sinking.
Alfred Sargent was owned by Bowen from France for a long time, its own brand sale never occupied the focus of parent company, so it manufactured private labels for others.
Even without exposure, its reputation is not harmed, people think high of their quality. When Gaziano & Girling treaded into RTW, Alfred Sargent’s production line was chosen.
Recent years, it seems private labels are dropped, does it mean Alfred Sargent want to regain the glory? I am curious to see. At least, I hope it competes with Crockett & Jones on the same level.
There are four collections, Mainline, Exclusive, Country and Handgrade. Each of them is marvelous.
All models including historical ones are collected regardless collections.
Conclusion
The archive is not extensive as others, however many are classic models people are very fond of. Handgrade offers more aesthetics.
Its style is somehow more conservative than Crockett & Jones which I admire.

这家之前也就一普通小厂，后来因为GG初期在这里生产，然后他家就顺势出了几个有着浓重GG风格的鞋款，而当时鉴于其低廉的价格，被一些玩家尊为GG平替，甚至好过GG。再后来被法国Bowen收了，养在深闺也不知道在做什么羞羞的事，反正外面是没消息了。afinepairofshoes清仓了AS，目前还有一些闲散库存在Skomaker。
