My Shoe Collection – Avignon from Paraboot

Speaking about Norwegese stitches, shoe aficionados may think of Paolo Scafora, however for broader audiences, Paraboot is the king.

Paraboot has three iconic models with global popularity: Michael, Chambord and Avignon, the last one is the most dressy one in my eyes. Of cource, another model is super cool and I love it very much, Avoriaz.

I am the best dress shoe blogger, which one would I choose is not a question. Enter my Avignon.

Pattern

Split toe derby is seen almost from any brands, and why Avignon is the classic? We have to delve into the details.

The apron and toe are connected by butt seam, however, there is another decorative on on the apron, which makes the apron more pronounced. Three seams are also seen in Demi Chasse from J.M.Weston, on which the seams are much condensed. To choose the opposite with Demi Chasse, the flavor is popped out.

At the opening of the shoes, a banana shape is attached and the logo label sticks here.

Even today, this design is so recognizable as Paraboot.

Last

Not very elegant streamline can be told from the last, and it is very narrow. Narrow last with rough design, quite odd.

Leather and colour

Epsom grain leather may be the best known grain leather in the world, and used in almost every leather products. But on other applications, pores are not easy to find, but the leather of this pair is of great quality.

The cherry colour is so saturated and bold, I don’t know how to pair them.

Construction

Except the casual style, Norwegese construction is what Paraboot is known for. The turned out upper edge is cut to jigsaw to make even rougher feeling. And the stitches are two colours.

Out Sole

When the leather sole is stitched with the welt, another layer of Rubber sole is glued on.

Conclusion

I know this brand is very loved, I know most everyone heard of its iconic models, but when I own one pair, that is enough as it does not suit my wardrobe.
