What should I promote for bespoke tailoring?

I have contacted many custom suit stores in China, and only carried out in-depth exchanges and publicity on whose products as the core competitiveness, but even in such a small circle, different stores tried to guide me on promotion content and direction.

This is easy to understand, even if they are all making great products, different stores have different biases. Differentiated competition, which is a good thing, but for me, if my publicity does not have a main focus and always emphasizes the advantages of each store, my comment wouldn’t be useful and relatively objective.

Let’s take a look at the points I’ve touched on, which do you think is more suitable as the cornerstone of judging clothes?

Good Looking

This is probably my preference at the moment. The craftsmanship does not matter, the fit is not so important, the most crucial thing is to return to the origin of clothing, if it looks good, you feel good, and the person who sees you wearing them thinks it looks good, that is the greatest success.

To a certain extent, this is a continuation of the core of Italian style, since it is a daily life dress, no one cares so much. Very few will pay so much attention to hoodies and T-shirts, then the same is true for suits.

It is relaxed, flowing, beautiful, and making people want to be close, is this not enough?

Craftsmanship

This is also from the Italian genre, you must be wondering, shouldn’t the Italian one be the thinking above? That may be the lack of confidence of some Italian schools in China.

The all-handmade suit is a grade in the Italian suit, and it does have its functionality and aesthetic embodiment, but these are very subtle, and only the connoisseurs who know clothes to a certain level can notice. At the same time, it is these manual hours that make the price of clothes high.

Why do I say this is a sign of lack of confidence? Because you need to rationalize your hefty prices through this.

Of course, good things are originally reserved for those who understand to appreciate and consume.

Fit

In fact, at the root, the one who wants to promote this point is also very proud of its own products or technique. Because the clothes under various dynamics move with body, they are the embodiment of tailoring skills.

Whether a piece of clothing fits or not, if not specifically pointed out, may be most novices feel that it is no problem. For example, we can often see suits with longer sleeves than back on the street, and the people who are wearing them still look so happy and proud. Meanwhile, if these fit points are once pointed out, it becomes the deal breaker. If this fit can not be achieved, then the most original purpose of bespoke is not realized? Why don’t I buy big-name ready-to-wear.

But this genre put too much energy on fit and technique, the pursuit of beauty is placed too low. It creates the feeling of specification maniac. The clothes may be all good on any details, but it is not attractive.

Culture

Whenever talking about clothes, the name of Huntsman, Henry Poole and so on popped out. In fact, this attracts a lot of entry customers.

We cannot naively think that the social attributes of clothing are illusory, and people’s reasons for shopping are also very diverse. We always say that we don’t care about the product itself, but the feeling it brings to us, some people feel that it is brought by the craftsman’s heart, and some people feel that it is brought by these cultural factors.

I think this is basically something that you are obsessed with when you first wear a suit, and any ritualistic thing will be discarded later because it cannot be integrated into life, or it will become routine. It’s hard to imagine anyone doing everyday archaeology (other than archaeologists).
