Reconstruct John Lobb Sneaker

I shared my pair of John Lobb x Aston Martin sneaker, in that article I mentioned last 8695 is too sharp for a sneaker. I don’t have the capability to change the last, but I can change the Construction! I hesitated not and deconstructed the glued rubber sole and planned to change it to Blake stitch construction.

Like my observation before deconstruction, I noticed there is a layer of seemingly welt.

Clearly construction wise, this faux welt has nothing useful, maybe it can form a vacancy to fill the anti-shock stuff.

Sneaker use different stuff to dress shoes. Cork is the most usual choice for the latter, but this sneaker uses foam.

When the full outsole was removed, I found a very special metal in the heel! To investigate and guess, it is the anti-fake chip!

The reconstruction was executed in Cie workshop.

Profile view shows the feeling is totally different with the original sneaker. Forefoot is not far away, however the waist and stacked leather heel are quite exquisite.

But I saw something very unusual!

My plan was to replace cemented construction with Blake stitched, but why are there stitches on the welt?

The stitches are not the same feeling with the usual ones, the thread is finer and more shining.

Turn over the shoes to check its sole, hello? This is clearly what I requested, Blake stitched construction!

So the welt is faux.

Reconstructed shoes have hard sole than the sneaker, but we all know that dress shoes will wear more and more comfortable to mold to your feet.

Reconstruction is not easy. I don’t mean stitching a sole is very hard, neither deconstruction is troublesome, but the overall presentation of final product. A shoe reconstructed is a new product!

For off white nubuck, crust colour faux welt is correct, however the faux stitches are too fine to this casual shoe.

As a stitched dress shoe, 8695 is much better and I can wear this pair for another long time.
