As you can know from the name of the shoe, this is a classic shoe that is plagiarized/imitating/tributing to J.M. Weston.
Considering that this is a pair of loafers, it is obvious that it is the peerless classic 180.
Carlos Santos Weston is actually slightly different in the upper design, that is, the hole on the strap has a different shape. In my eyes, such a small difference still has to be included in plagiarism.
When Carlos Santos Weston first arrived, I took a picture casually, which stunned me. Because my photo-taking skills are terrible, if it looks good in my casually taking photos, the shoes really have no dead corners.
It really grasps the charm of 180 in the last shape.
At present, there are four colors, namely black, chocolate, Coimbra patina and dark brown suede.
Last and upper design
John Lobb Lopez is considered by many people to be the ultimate ROUND in dress shoes, but it is 180 which can crown this domain.
This short and fat last, with a high wall upper design, can be said to be the most informal dress shoes.
Let’s look back and think about why 180 is so classic or popular.
The popularity of 180 is inseparable from Ivy culture.
Ivy has another classic loafer style, which is College Loafer, and the big name is G.H.Bass.
In comparison, 180 is better in terms of sophistication.
On the other hand, 180 is so sought after due to Japanese fever. In Japan, more than times, 180 are matched with jeans.
This is also my experience with this shoe after wearing it for a period of time. The round last is more attractive to older people, because it is less aggressive. In addition, it is suitable for casual clothing, and suit trousers do not match.
Fit
Carlos Santos Weston has generous forefoot space which is comfortable, however its instep is quite pressed.
In the actual wearing, my midsole shaping has been completed. After entering the foot, the fit can be scored 80 points, and the rest 20 points is that it takes too much time to relieve the instep pressure.
The fit is not only the forefoot, but also the back body. This is what we can’t notice when we look at the shoes, but if we wear it ourselves, we will feel it.
The best seller of Carlos Santos, Elliot has a hollow back, but this pair of Weston never has this problem.
I especially like the snug feeling.
Outfit
I haven’t found the best solution for matching this pair of shoes.
I think this dark brown suede is a little too dark and may not be suitable for relaxed clothes, such as bright colors in summer.
I described the combination of color and leather texture as “too warm”.
On the other hand, the combination of this color and leather texture is too casual and not exquisite enough for a suit.
With such a derivation, we can find that it is indeed most suitable with Ivy style, Chino or jeans, an earth-colored jacket, or a suede jacket with a match colour.
In terms of colour, whether this shoe matches with jeans? I need to actually try it.
I feel that it may not match so much and earth color Chino may be better.
Conclusion
Keep moving forward. When the instep is not pressed, I should also find the most suitable match.
