Toe of leather soles is the easiest place to wear, basically as soon as you start wearing them, they wear quickly. But grinding to a certain angle, it will come to a platform, later the wear will not be so severe. The degree of tilt of this wear platform varies to different people. Deep tilt brings the problem of broken stitching. Toe stitching breaks, then the welt and outsole will gradually separate.
This does not mean this separation happens fast and the shoes can still be worn for a certain time, but the aesthetics and durability are harmed. So, toe protection is a necessary.

I have also gathered a lot of information about the price of this service. You can buy Triumph or Lulu toe plate on Taobao for 150 RMB per pair and if this is only the raw material, with labour, how much should this service cost?
Johnny Works is workboot shoemaker and it has this service and only charges 80 RMB in total that is an absurd price!
I have to try and sent two pairs over, one is 10441 from Meermin, the other is John Lobb St Crepin 2010.
I told Johnny to show me process photos and I want to make sure that the stitches inside are not harmed! Johnny readily agreed.

The state after coming back. There are flat and angled toe plate and I prefer the former.
The lower edge fits tightly with the sole, and edge is grinded.
I am very satisfied with the job on both pairs.
Quality Issue
This scratch seems caused by metal. I think Johnny Works should protect the shoes with plastic film in future job.
