Leather Care Brand – John Lobb

I’ve always been picky about these brands whose main business is not leather care, and I think they are playing, or even worse, like Crocket & Jones, I have caught that they are actually using Saphir for private label.

Of course, there are also those who play with an artistic sense of the shoehorn like Santoni, and John Lobb that we will introduce today is indeed reasonable at a certain point.

The official website gives a total of 18 leather shoe care products, and I will introduce them in different categories.

Brush

There are a total of 8 brushes, two of which are for suede.

As already mentioned in suede care, rubber brushes are used to deal with stubborn stains, while copper wire brushes are used to scrape out the dirt embedded in them.

Next is the big brush that is most commonly used to brush shoes, and they have 4 of them, two of which are made of wood and two of which are made of horn. Function is all the same.

Mainly dusting.

The shape is a little longer, and the horse mane is the same.

There were wooden ones and horns. A horned brush costs £455, which is really very expensive.

A pair of JL shoes costs around £1,000, but you’ll get the impression that there’s a lot of handwork in it, including the design, but this brush for this price. I think it’s good, but I’m sure you’ll have to be a big fan of John Lobb to buy it.

This is also a very frequently used brush, but there is a problem that you may need to buy several pairs because different colors of shoe polish cannot be mixed together. The shape is very distinctive.

The last one is brand new, I have never seen a wool brush, the wool is particularly soft, using it won’t scratch the mirror gloss on toe.

The functionality of the shoehorn is very important, and John Lobb’s are very artistic which I appreciate a lot.

Shoe Cream

Only cream and wax.

Very low-key box, basically nothing is said in the introduction, such as ingredients, etc., but there is a key point, which is to match the color of JL’s shoes, and I think this is the only reason to buy shoe creams from these shoemakers.

The box of shoe wax is shorter, and it also matches the color, and it looks like its wax is a little thinner than the usual one, maybe it contains a little more pigment.

Cloth

Many professional shoe shiners use old cotton clothes, but there are still countless manufacturers who focus on this product.

Then I came across something completely new, first of all, when we talk about waxing and polishing, what do you use? The answer should be cotton, I watched John Lobb’s official shoe care video, and the worker used old cloth of a T-shirt, but here, they sell special polishing gloves.

The first time I heard about polishing leather with leather to achieve the polishing effect. I’m definitely not heard of, and I’d love to try it later.

Shoe Tree

I am not so sure whether John Lobb shoe tree is lasted or not.

Accessories

The other two miscellaneous items, one is a travel bag.

The other is a rubber cover that wraps around the shoe.

I did not get how to use this cover, and I thought its function is the same as shoe bags, however, one friend owning it told me it works perfect for rainy days! Oh, that is the use.
