My Shoe Collection – A2940 from Lottusse

This is not my first pair of Spanish brand Lottusse, the quality and last are not bad at all I say can.

Let us check this pair together to get a more thorough idea.

Pattern

A quarter brogue cap toe oxford. What is a quarter brogue? Only the cap toe has brogue.

Quarter brogue is very common and great design, however this one moves the cap toe very backwards and breaks all the proportion. The very short vamp area is super ugly. Except the aesthetical consideration, the creases going into the cap toe is also hard feeling.

Look at the bright side, there is the iconic or branded design on the pattern, the prominent curve line beside the eyelets.

In the classic dress shoes domain, big logo is despised, so how to stand out without to be loud is a great question, and Lottusse gives a great answer.

Last

Lottusse lasts are all conservative while contemporary, good example of Spanish shoes. It is a huge waste of this last coupled by the speechless pattern.

Leather

Creases are quite fine.

However I feel the coating is a little thick and the sheen of the leather is suspicious.

Out Sole

Open channel Goodyear construction, the leather sole seems not very abrasion resistant. The heel rubber is branded and good designed.

Construction

The real funny part of this pair of shoes finally comes.

At the center of the outsole writes some words.

Original Goodyear, Anti Humid Treated, Made in Spain. The interesting part is the first seen Anti Humid Treated. But what kind of treatment is that?

I can think of applying a layer of water repellent gradient, but once on the ground, it wears off very quickly. Another way is heavily putting oil into the leather. But which method Lottusse uses, I have no idea.

But when I look the shoes from side, the sole is so unique and impressive.

You can find three layers on the forefoot, so this pair is actually double leather sole. Double leather sole can be described as anti humid in a sense.

However, when you eyes move to the waist, there are only two layers, so the second piece of leather sole only locates in forefoot which I have never seen on other brands.

The fudge is very fine and decent.

Details

As I own several pairs of Lottusse, I think some details speak of brand image.

Model name and last information is all serial number which is very unfriendly to customers, luckily I made some effort to know its naming rule, and A2940 is the model number.

The half sock lining is unique as well and good designed. Very few know your heel steps on a foam cushion under the sock lining. Lottusse brings this cushion from underneath to the top and covered by logoed leather.

The heel counter is covered by suede leather. Which one is preferred, suede or smooth leather? Each has its own advantage as Suede offers more friction so the heel hardly slips off. Smooth leather here looks more refined.

Conclusion

When we talk about Spanish shoes, Carmina, TLB, Meermin and Berwick come to mind, even the more fashionable Magnanni gains more popularity than Lottusse. But Lottusse still offers great quality shoes.
